Our Apostolic Work
In the Anglican Church, Apostolic Mission means being ‘sent out’ by Christ to continue to serve in the same way, with the same message and ministry that Jesus gave to his apostles.
Anglicans have developed the Five Marks of Mission based on the services prescribed by Jesus. They are:
· Telling the good news of the kingdom
· Teaching and supporting new believers
· Responding to human need with loving service
· Seeking to transform unjust structures
· Caring for creation

Autumn 2026:
A new chapter for the Gabriel Sisters
As the Gabriel Sisters move into a new phase after a time of reflection, prayer and discussion, our primary focus is on our apostolic work as individuals, continuing to ally ourselves with causes of justice, mercy and compassion in the places we find ourselves in everyday life. This is embodied through active involvement in such areas as mentoring of individuals, teaching, preaching, encouraging prayer, pastoral care and working with those on the margins of society who face poverty, homelessness and the impact of poor physical and mental health.
