The Gettalife Project

This charity, which is a major part of the work and life of the Community, is governed by the Charities Commission. Its main focus is to enable young people and adults up to 35, and particularly people who are brought to our attention who may be outside this age range, to "Get a Life" to find love and a skill that may enable them to find work of meaning and value to themselves and others.

A pause for the Gettalife Project

The Chair and Trustees have agreed to a pause of twelve months from the end of November 2025 to enable a resetting of the work of the Gettalife Project.

Special Event in London on April 26th

A musical Anthem entitled ‘And I saw a new heaven…’ which was commissioned by the Gettalife Project and written by the critically acclaimed composer, Jonathan Dove, will have its world première at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday April the 6th during a service of evensong at the Old Naval Chapel, Greenwich.

The anthem takes as its central theme the message from the last book of the Bible, Revelation, ‘… and I saw a new heaven and a new earth… and there will be no more grief…’ The work will be performed by a ‘gathered choir’ in four part harmony, with an organ accompaniment.

The gathered choir will present a unique and exciting sound, it is drawn from talented singers from the Gospel and African traditions and the choir of the Old Naval Chapel, who are trained in the English church choral tradition. Together they are seeking to form a musical bridge across genres to enable a creative fusion of a wonderful exhilarating choral tone.

Together, as individuals drawn across difference and with sometimes painful histories, they will lament lives lost and sing of a vision of hope to inspire.
